Bottle Drive Fundraiser - Saturday May 27th

posted May 25, 2017, 9:32 PM by Luciano Barbieri

There will be a BOTTLE DRIVE FUNDRAISER on Saturday, May 27th, from 10:00am to 12:30pm. I encourage all students to attend and participate, as this is an excellent way to help the program support future endeavors and offset costs of such things as clinics, and small tours. Many hands make light work! I would love to have enough drivers for the students that are able to make it…and in a perfect world, there would be 85 students. As is often the case we may have some competition for the BOUNTY of BOTTLES still clogging up people’s garages and back entryways. I look forward to seeing you there this Saturday

Also, I am happy to pick up bottles from anyone at anytime and deposit them, just contact me.

Sincerest Regards,

Vancouver 2017 Day 3 - Lord Selkirk Elementary

Day 3 was jam packed with activities.

The morning started off at Lord Selkirk Elementary school, or so we thought.  When we got there they had no clue who we were, until we found out they also had an annex school.  So we made our way to the Annex school, I think our bus driver Dave was really starting to love those Vancouver side streets.

Here are some photos at the school.

After the school we headed over to MetroTown Mall to grab some lunch.  As we were running behind from the first school, we unfortunately were not able to make it to the second school in time.

After the workshops this morning the group headed over to Granville island Market for some lunch and shopping.  Unfortunately due to the weather the groups were not able to perform on Granville Island.

Afterward the group headed over to English Bay Boathouse for some dinner.

Here are some photos on the beach across from the Boathouse as everyone waits for the bus.

We then had a tour guide jump on the bus and take us for a tour of Vancouver, some of the very interesting sites where historic GasTown, Chinatown, Canada Place and Robson Street.

Everyone is back at the hotel hanging out and getting some swimming in before calling it a night.

Vancouver Day 1 - Update 3

Well we made it to the hotel in downtown Vancouver.  We continued to experience troubles with the coolant and had to make another stop in Hope, BC.  So we lost the time we made up but the issue is now resolved.

Everyone is now finding their rooms!

That's it for today!

Vancouver Day 1 - Update 2

We are done cooling off on the side the road near Merritt while the driver checked things out. We are about 2.5 hours away from Vancouver and we're making  great time, but all is well, and spirits remain high. We slipped a belt, I "helped" fix holding the cover just right so we could pour the coolant back into the tank. We are now on the road again.
