Trip Deposit & Concert

Hello BCHS Music Parents,

  This is just a “Last Chance” for students who might still want to go to Vancouver with the Music Program in April. Currently the trip is priced out for 80 students with 8 chaperones and I have attached a “POSSIBLE” Itinerary. As of today, I have approximately 40 students with 4 possible chaperones. I would love for more students to be able to come and gain this awesome experience. In a perfect world, all of the students would get the opportunity to go, but I understand that this is not always possible. Please confirm your child’s attendance for the trip and secure their spot with this deposit by the extended date of tomorrowWednesday, December 7th.


2016-17 OPTIONAL Music Trip Deposit – Vancouver, B.C. April 9-12, 2017 (C. Dorner)

This Deposit Fee is to reserve your son or daughter's spot on the trip to Vancouver, BC April 9-12, 2017. This is an OPTIONAL trip open to all students registered in the Music Program. The $75 deposit fee is not refundable once paid to the tour company so please only pay the deposit fee if your son or daughter intends to go on the trip. Thank you.


Reminders were emailed from the School Cash system at the end of last week for those parents that have registered to use the online payment system. Please make your online payments at the following link as the preferred method of payment. Above all, no cheques!!




Our Christmas Concert will be taking place on Wednesday, December 14th at 7pm in The Bert Church Theater that will feature selections performed by our Grade 9 Band Band, BCHS Choir, BCHS Jazz Band and our Grade 10-12 Band. At this performance we will be having an auction for 4 different ‘Themed’ Baskets representing each Group. The money will go towards our BCHS Fundraising Account to help offset costs of Festivals and clinics and such.  The Group Themes are as follows:

Grade 9 Band: Movie Night (Snacks, Popcorn, things to go with a movie at home, or gift certificates for a show, etc.)

Grade 10-12 Band: Christmas (Items of a Christmas nature…or beverages, treats, collectibles, etc.)

Jazz Band: Gift Cards (Cards for things not Coffee or Tea related, Restaurants, Stores, etc.)

Choir: Coffee and Tea (Basically All things to do with Coffee and/or Tea…mugs, biscotti/biscuits, beans or teas, etc.)


Students that are in 2 different groups, or all 3, will pick only contribute to one group. Jazz students do jazz only not their other groups choir students do just choir... if a student is in all 3 they should pick the group with the least members to contribute to. I will collect and keep tabs as to what each student is able to bring in so it can be noted for fundraising purposes, and in the event of doubling/tripling, which is completely fine in this case. All items need to be in to me (Mr. Dorner) no later than Tuesday morning, December 13 please.




HUGE SHOUT OUT TO ALL OF THE PARENTS AND STUDENTS WHO CAME OUT SATURDAY FOR OUR BOTTLE DRIVE! 30 Students and 8 Drivers! Great turnout for the first one. Our next one will be JANUARY 14th, 2017. SAVE THE DATE!
