Choir Performance at Airdrie Rotary Festival Benefit Concert

posted Apr 15, 2013, 7:59 AM by Luciano Barbieri   [ updated Apr 15, 2013, 7:59 AM ]

Dear BCHS Choir Parents,

As you may already be aware, this Friday beginning at 7 pm in the BCHS Theatre is the Airdrie Rotary Festival's Benefit Concert.  The fundraising purpose of this concert is to raise funds for groups such as ourselves to attend the provincial festival in Edmonton.  Since our Choir was named Best High School Choir in Festival and recommended to perform at Provincials, our choir was asked to perform two pieces at this Friday's concert.  It would be great if the majority of our students could attend and perform.  Students should try to arrive at 7 pm in order to watch the concert, but call time will be 7:30 pm in the music room, and we are slated to perform around 8 pm on the stage.  You as parents are more than welcome to attend, and admission is $5 (for guests, not performers).

Thank you!

Diego Bechthold

Our big bags and instruments (larger) will be leaving Beijing with the tour company ahead of the group and will be waiting at our hotel when we get into Xi’an.  SNA tours requests that all big bags have locks (supplied and installed by each traveler) put on the main compartments – big instruments should be locked as well if possible during the overnight train to Xi’an.

PUB NIGHT - January 26th

posted Jan 1, 2013, 10:19 AM by Luciano Barbieri   [ updated Jan 1, 2013, 10:19 AM ]

As you know we are hosting a pub night to help fund the cost of the instrument rentals in China. We have done as much pricing and researching as possible to bring the price down but the final price to rent and transport all the big instruments for our two performance opportunities, including the Great Wall, is $3,500.00.

We can’t stress enough the positive impact this trip will have on your child. The trip alone would be great but to have the musical experience of performing and sharing their passion and pride...THAT IS PRICELESS!

Please contact Melinda Pryor or Lois Jones to purchase tickets and or to gift your donation to the “mystery” silent auction.
