Dear BCHS Jazz Band parents,
As you may already be aware, our Sr. High Jazz Band is performing at the annual Artember event. Most of the Jazz Band students have returned the consent form with your signatures. For the few that have not, could you please remind them to do so by tomorrow (Tuesday Sept. 25). The details are as such:
- performance time is from 1 - 1:30 pm, Friday Sept. 28.
- venue is under the tent at Nose Creek Park in Airdrie
- we will meet at noon sharp in the music room this Friday -- students will be changed into Jazz Band uniform by then (black dress shirt, black dress pants, black dress shoes, and black socks - PLUS white tie which students get themselves)
- when we meet at noon, we will load vehicles to bring instruments and equipment to Nose Creek Park.
IMPORTANT: we will need parent chaperones/drivers to help transport students and equipment to and from the park. If you are able to to help in this way, could you please let me know by replying to this e-mail via e-mail. We recognize that this event is happening during the afternoon of a weekday, but if you do have time available we would very much appreciate the help. It would also be great to have an appreciative audience.

This e-mail is also a heads-up on the upcoming annual Didsbury Jazz Festival. The details are as follows:
- Tuesday November 20, 2012
- depart from BCHS at noon for Didsbury Zion Church
- festival will include performance, ensemble masterclass, instrumental clinics - AND an evening concert at Olds TransAlta Theatre, featuring the Ray Charles Tribute Jazz Orchestra. Students will return to Airdrie around 10 pm.
- consent forms will be sent home with students. Along with returning signed consent forms, students will also have to pay a $30.00 fee which covers registration, afternoon sub costs, and evening concert ticket. Fees can be paid by cash to me, or by debit/credit at the school office.
- transportation will be by volunteer parent drivers/chaperones. IMPORTANT: if you are able to help in that capacity, you will need to fill out a RVSD Volunteer Driver Application Form. You can pick that up from me, or have your son/daughter pick it up for you.
- our time will be spent at Didsbury Zion Church in the afternoon, then Olds TransAlta theatre in the evening. In between those two venues we will have dinner as a group in either Didsbury or Olds. Students will need to bring money for dinner as well.

Again, if you are able to volunteer for Artember and/or Didsbury, please let me know by e-mail. We appreciate your continued support!
